Lost
Stop watching after: Season 2
Total number of seasons: 6
Especially at the time when it was first airing, Lost was a huge trailblazer of the contemporary “golden era” of TV series. However, the show failed to deliver on most of its promises, creating story arcs and abandoning them, asking intriguing questions and never providing the answers to the mysteries. Do definitely watch the first season, which is full of excitement, character development, and intrigue. Season two also has some great moments, and the series is still somewhat retaining its original form. After that, things deteriorate quite rapidly. While there is no consensys among the fanbase or the critics as to when exactly the show became bad, there are few things to look forward to in the later seasons.
According to Rolling Stone (warning: spoilers in the full article),
Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse’s twisty, ridiculous, occasionally brilliant series practically made a sport out of shark-jumping. It hooked us with compelling characters and high-grade mysteries, then proceeded to raise more questions than it could ever hope to answer. No one agrees when exactly Lost lost its mojo, because there is no one JTS moment that stands above the rest. […] The point is, Lost disappointed us at least as many times as it bowled us over. This show was a crazy mess and we loved…well, about 50 percent of it.
