The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Stop watching after: Season 2
Still running, total number of seasons so far: 3
The series starts brilliantly and the first season is very much worth watching, thanks to its wittiness, hilarious dialogues and wonderful acting. The second season, while a bit below the first one in terms of quality, is still holding its own. The third season, however, feels like an entirely different show, falling into tropes the previous seasons rightfully made fun of, making disappointing or bizarre plot decisions and, in a very stark contrast to the show’s earlier days, plainly failing to be funny.
According to NME (warning: spoilers in the full article),
The visual world of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is intoxicating. […] Unfortunately, little else in the first half of season three feels as complete and powerful as the show’s aesthetics. [In this season], jokes become stale, storylines dither, and characters feel shortchanged.
